Title: Single-Ended Plexi Build Help
Post by: Big_Mike on December 15, 2016, 08:56:22 am

I ran across a very interesting schematic for a single-ended Plexi with a pseudo-phase inverter for a presence control and extra gain.  The schematic is attached.

I have a couple of questions, and will need some help on this:

1.  Would I be able to use the Hoffman stout chassis for this build?  Will there be enough room?
2.  I need some help converting the schematic into a PTP board layout.  If someone could help me with that, I would very much appreciate it.  Thanks so much.

The Stout should work fine, tight but works, I've built 2 amps on the chassis using 2 pre, 2 power tubes.
download dougs plexi6V6 layout, then with your favorite editing software cut/paste the "new" values n components.  I just did a 2ch twin type layout based off somebody else's layout that was close.  take your time, re-work as much as needed on paper so you don't have to do it with solder!

Just as an FYI, here is a link to the webpage where I found the schematic and a write-up on the amp.  There is also a clip there which sounds pretty good:

Thanks, I totally missed the link to the drawing on his site.  I will try and convert his tag board into something more compact to use with the Stout chassis.
