Title: Diode rectifier for Tube...
Post by: Oddvar on December 25, 2016, 07:06:27 am
Hi.  Any suggestions on how to build a diode rectifier instead of  tube in Hoffman 18w Marshall?

Just put a couple diodes on the tube socket. One connects between pins 4 and 8. The other connects between pins 6 and 8. Cathodes will be on pin 8.

Sluckey is right, it's pretty easy. Rob Robinette posts on another forum, but he has a great webpage dedicated to tube amp mods.
This link has a good layout for this, just disregard the switch if you only want SS rectification.
