It would seem like I could get some loudness from this amp I just built, but I have to put the speaker up to my ear to hear it on the first channel and static out of the other channel. I will try to get pics and more information on voltages today later or Friday.

I forgot to mention they are Classictone 40-18062 PT and 40-18063 OT

Many-many reasons an amplifier won't work right. Why are you thinking transformer?
-
Well I called Watts who carry's the layout and schematic and sells the entire kit and they said there were problems. But it may have been just to try and get me to buy their bigger transformers. Anyhow here soon I will put some pictures. May have some resister values wrong. Thanks for answering PRR.

Is this the schematic you used ?

Did you used the expensive 6973 as power tubes ?

Yes Franco, I did use those as power tubes. Is there a problem with them? Is there an alternative if so and I can use the same transformers?
-
I was asking because who is able to help you is eased on doing it knowing the exact schematic you used
That because I've seen a 6v6 version here

Thank you for that. That is interesting... I will compare the two and see if I can make out what the differences are besides the obvious 6V6's in place of the 6973's....

I have it playing strong and loud now on the first channel. It was a grounding issue. :BangHead: The other channel I am going to work with and make it a little cleaner and stronger.
