Hey everyone,
I'm new to the scene here but am excited to dig in.
I have been an Electrician for the last 20 years and a part time musician for even longer. I have decided to mix the two and to start familiarizing myself with amplifier design, construction, modification and repair. I hope to be able to develop some serious skills over the next 10 years and transition from the electrical trade over to the amp business as a part time, semi retirement option.
There seems to be a wealth of knowledge and experience on this forum and I hope to benifit from the members posts here. As I work this plan out, I hope you all can help me with some questions I'm sure to have. This side of electricity and electrical theory is quite a bit different than my normal day to day but is incredibly interesting and has already consumed quite a bit of my idle time.
I have built a couple amps so far and am in the process of building a couple more. I have started trying my hand at repairing and modifying amps for friends as practice. I have also got a Hammond AO-43 on the bench for a project to be determined later. I am also getting some of my necessary testing equipment together as the need for certain things is starting to become apparent
Anyway, that's my story. Hope to make some new acquaintances soon.
Thanks!
Mike
