Ok, Jim is going to have a go at me for this
I had never heard Randy Hansen's version of Machine gun
I have every note of the original Hendrix performance #1 on new years eve 1970, locked into my brain
I consider That Hendrix performance to be the greatest rock guitar performance ever recorded
I must say that Randy Hansen does an awesome job
There you go Jim

I'm not going to say anything, I'll get banned for gosh sake! Haha! The only thing missing are the two or three super lead stacks pushing large gobs of air. You can tell the original Band of Gypsy's recording was at very high volume. If you have played at those volumes or experienced it stage front, you can tell the difference with the speaker breakup and the guitar comes alive. Randy can't quite get that sweet spot with a single half stack at stage volume. However, he does a great job! And, he is a really nice guy to boot!

Another great Machine gun performance here by Randy

The guy is just amazing. Those are some big shoes to fill and he does quite well! He also does more obscure Hendrix songs like rainy day, when 6 was 9, burning down the house, a merman, etc.. Really incredible, his ability to recreate that vibe. He tends to tour around on the left coast mostly in the US as I believe he is from Seattle. However, he is hugely popular in Europe and does extensive touring over there.
