Title: How to add effect to both channels of a hoffman blackface circuit board
Post by: Fishermanbob on March 08, 2017, 12:18:01 pm
I have been looking but can not find a layout diagram of how to put the effects on both channels of a Hoffman Blackface circuit board. I have done this on a standard Fender tag board but am a bit confused on how to do it on the Hoffman board I'm working on. Can anyone give me a layout shot of how to do it.

Make the simple changes in green to put reverb on both channels. Tremolo is already on both channels.

Thanks and yes that is how I did it before but I remember I had to add a couple resistors also. I took it from a book I used years ago it was by Aspen Pittman. I take it those are not needed?

I have built a few different amps now Tweed Fenders, a Deluxe Reverb, 18 and 36 watt Marshalls but never using a Hoffman layout. I'm doing the Deluxe reverb again for myself. I sold the other. I get a bit confused by the way things are laid out on this board. I've heard that these Hoffman layouts ran pretty quite so I thought I would give it a try. Just lays out quite a bit different than the Fender Tag boards do.

It takes a while to get used to Hoffman's layouts, but when you do, you'll see that they are done very well. That's why it's so important to be able to read a schematic too. The reason I modified the schematic rather than the layout was to make you think a little. Modifying the layout is really just as easy as the simple change I made on the schematic. Compare them. I think you'll agree.

Thanks I see what I have to do. I did this a long time ago and I was just making sure my thoughts about it were on the right page.
