Title: Hellow from AK
Post by: Beezerboy on March 11, 2017, 03:12:45 pm
Tom in Alaska. 66,  65 years in AK, semi-retired aircraft mechanic (40+ years), AI (Inspector), taught the trade for 20+ years at University (but always kept my hand in working general Av), pilot SEL & SES. have a PA18 on Edo 2000s. I have built 3 hovercraft based on the Sevtec design (my surrogate airplane when I didn't have one).

I played in bands in the early 70's.... things happen.. I moved on to other trades. I still play jam nights once a week (tonight!) & gig once in a blue moon with friends. I've built a 5E3 from scratch and a Hoffman 736 variant. I build my own cabinets & speaker extension boxes. I have also built 2 Leslies with switching to use my amps to drive them (switch between speakers)

I currently own a Hamer Mirage (USA), Ovation VXT (made by Hamer usa), 2 Godin LG P90 (one for sale), a Godin Icon with P-Rails. building a FrankenHamer from a non-USA craigslist find ($50) that will have one P-Rail and a 4 way rotary selector switch.

getting ready to strip out a yardsale Carvin 100 head & play with it some

Welcome Tom!  We have another AI here in Bill Creller, who at 85 is still taking care of 15 planes!

Whereabouts are you in AK?  My daughter was a Nanook playing basketball for them.  Is this where you taught?

Nanooks are Fairbanks. I'm in Anchorage. I work between 7 & 10 planes per year & occasionally do a class in the 'ol program. I retired from the U 5 five years ago but stay in touch & do the community things.
