Title: Dummy Load - Question (one other)
Post by: kagliostro on March 18, 2017, 03:06:52 am
Well, I received the resistor I ordered for my Dummy Load

Now I've 2 x 4R 100W resistors and 2 x 8R 100W resistors

The idea is to combine it this way:

the two 4R resistors in parallel for 2R 200W Load and in series for 8R 200W Load

the two 8R resistors in parallel for 4R 200W Load and in series for 16R 200W Load

The swap between parallel and series will be obtained using a pair of DPDT switch (independent for the 4R resistors ad for 8R resistors)

so I'll have 2 separated connections to the amp, one for 2R and 8R and one for 4R and 16R

Can someone suggest if it will be useful to add an output for speaker and/or Oscilloscope exit (and how is better to do it)

and if it will be of interest to add a Line Out ?

The basic schematic of the switching I've think is this
