Someone brought me a PV 6505+ that was cutting out at higher volumes on the lead channel. When I tested it, I could not duplicate the problem. Turns out the amp owner uses an equalizer in the effects loop. Plugging in his board directly into the amp input, no cutting out. Put it back in the effects loop, and it started cutting out again. Noticed he had the gain way up on the equalizer and the clip light was flashing. Turned the gain to the middle and the problem went away. Apparently the equalizer was over-driving the phase inverter causing the amp to cut out. Has anyone ever run into this before? Glad I discovered this before I started tearing into the amp. Just wanted to pass this along.

My equalizer has a significant boost feature. Does his? With respect, Tubenit

Yes, his equalizer does have a lot of boost.
