Is possible to permit the upload of the .rar files as is permitted to upload .zip files as an attachment of the post ?

But most people don't know what to do with .rar files


I installed 7-zip many years ago because I need to unpack a rar file
Most people probably won't install a special program just to do that


Would it be better to unpack the rar and zip it?
Windows has .zip unpacking built into it

I vote for ZIP if at all reasonable.

Both are loss-less (do not drop details).

There will rarely be a significant size difference.

RAR has advantage for VERY large files, or if an archive has been corrupted. Doug can't host HUGE files, and probably will not corrupt them.
