Title: Howdy from Canada
Post by: BK1985 on May 31, 2017, 01:20:38 pm
Hey everyone,

I already posted a cry for help in the tech forum, but thought I'd take a second to introduce myself.

My name is Brian, I'm 32 from the french part of Canada :) I got into my first amp build last year with an AX84 Hi-Octane. I really wanted a tube amp, but everything "music" is excessively expensive here in Quebec. So, after a couple google searches and a lot of reading I jumped in. Bought a bunch of stuff from the Hoffman Amp store and got building. Took about 40 hours to complete the whole thing.

After hitting that first chord though, I was sold...tubes for life.

During the day I'm a project leader in the field of industrial and mobile hydraulics (plant equipement, power shovels, etc). It's a great job, get to program PLCs, do some 3D drafting and design, schematics. I also enjoy some software programming on the side, mostly with C#. Although lately I've been taking some Java courses online.

Anyways, glad to have found what seems like a very active and helpful tube amp community.

Cheers!

-Brian
