Hey all, so in addition to finishing up (almost) Sluckey’s AC-15, checking out hi-fi amps and going to two Dead shows, I’ve managed to build a Deluxe for a friend. He wants to give it to her for her high school graduation. We decided on a simple 5e3. I built it and just finished the cab today, just in time for her graduation.

I think it came out pretty good and it sounds great. Ultimately I’m showing it off here because almost all I know about this stuff I learned on these forum pages. So thanks.

This is also the first amp I’ve ever “sold” so I couldn’t help coming up with a tube chart. Here it is:

I think it looks ridiculous.

I'm joking. I think it looks great, really! And it's especially refreshing to see something other than a compulsively exact clone of what was just a cheap box 60 years ago. It's retro enough to be honest to the 5E3, and I don't know your friends daughter, but it looks like something that a young woman could truly love.

Awesome. And all in just a few days. how's that possible?

Very cool Ratgon.

You never know how a young gal is going to react to a gift, hopefully she appreciates it and it becomes a special amp for her.

If she plays guitar and needs a nice amp, then she will appreciate tone and capabilities of the Custom Paisley 5e3 for years to come.

Excellent work! I agree it's a nice change from the usual "me too" 5e3 clone. Very unique and classy bet it sounds as good as it looks.

Please see if you can get a photo of her playing her amp.  That would be pleasant to see a big smile for a cool present.
