Title: GTC output transformer
Post by: Joel on August 04, 2017, 06:22:01 am
Anyone know anything about GTC output transformers?  I was going through one of my old parts boxes and discovered an output transformer marked with G.T.C 1194.  I've got a note with it saying it's a push pull 6V6 transformer.  I haven't tested it yet to figure it's specs, but I wanted to know if any you know anything about this brand/type?

G.T.C = General Transformer Corporation;  Looking for old sales manuals to look up some info.

Well I did some testing with my home made frequency generator and my o-scope.  It looks like its around a 5.8k CT primary into 8 ohms.  From it's physical size, comparing to the Hammond replacement output transformers, I think its around 20W.
