Title: Would Philco 6L6 GA f6s be any good?
Post by: TerryD on August 07, 2017, 01:54:48 pm
For a guitar amp?  I can pick up a pair running 80 and 85 for $10.

Thanks,
Terry

I would use old 6L6 data sheets, not the 6L6C sheets.

If you can test them before hand, why not.

yes, but lower voltage. think 6v6 voltages wth 6l6 tone and eary breakup. i successfully rum them at 360 platevolts.
really nice in pa conversions.

So....running them in a 460 volt amp would be disaster?

depends on your point of view, taking the govnr off my 8hp briggs I could beat the pants off most other mini bikes, I did go through a lot more motors though :icon_biggrin:

look up the data, 360v should be the max.  You can go higher if you're running 6L6c's

who's the manufacturer?

I don't know.  I don't have them here.  I could have purchased them, but came here to substantiate my fears before I made the $10 plunge.  They are a pair and tested good.  If anyone wants them I could send them along.
