Title: Mounting screw clearances
Post by: thor2015 on October 07, 2017, 11:04:02 am
I finally got the rest of my parts in and am going to start assembling the amp this afternoon. I did have one more mounting question:

I drilled the mounting holes for the board and had to relocate two of them because of possible interference with the output transformer. Fortunately I discovered this before putting the holes in the chassis. Now that the holes are drilled, does anyone know if the location of the two bottom screws will be any issue with the eyelets? The one I am questioning the most is the eyelet where the 500V B+ voltage will be present in the lower left corner on the eyelet to the right of the screw head. I know there are many ways to solve this if it will be an issue such as coating the screw head or using a nylon screw in that location but I wanted to hear from those who have more knowledge in this area before going overboard.

I would not worry about that. Just be neat when you load the components and wires.

Thank you for the quick response. I do plan on taking my time with the build to make sure everything is neatly arranged and carefully laid out.
