I was given a Powerstat Variac today!
0-140v, 50-60hz, 7.5a max, 1kva max
My question is, "is 7.5a adequate"?
thanks

Let your line fuse be your guide. If the fuse is rated for more than 7.5A don't plug that device into the variac. If the fuse size is less than 7.5A, safely plug it into the variac.

Thanks Sluckey!
That's what I was thinking but, never having used one before, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
