You do know that the links are not showing?
-
Video links? They're showing for me? Before they were just clickable, then they started working again, but it seems they're a black box or smething, but it's just a simple html link to the youtube video. Not sure why it's being weird
-
Here's what it looks like to me right now.
-
That's what it should look like. I see nothing. But I can quote or modify your post and see the URL. Maybe I have a browser issue?
Here's what I see. Nothing at all with IE 11... Chrome does show a simple text link but no embedded video.
-
Yeah I looked on my computer with internet exploder 11 too and don't see it. Not sure. Something is off with the forum software I'd guess.

So here's a link to my new site I'm building for my amp stuff, it has the 4 tweedle tee videos:

The embedded youtube video worked fine until a few months ago. About that time youtube was making some changes too. So, I don't know if the broken embedded videos is a result of what youtube did, or maybe an update to the forum software, or even an IE update. It's kind of aggravating. But at least I can see your videos just fine on TAG. I did notice there's a [ Invalid YouTube link ] code on the TAG board. Wonder if such a code is available for Hoffman's board software?

Not sure, I added that bbcode myself on phpbb. I don't know enough about this forum to know the software etc. If Doug let me know, I could research it.

That would be nice! I wonder how many users are like me and see no link for the embedded videos? I haven't heard any complaints. BTW, what OS and browser did you use to display the embedded video correctly?

I think I just figured out another variable of what doesn't work, I'm on a mac at work and I can't see them again. So what works:
Windows 10 with Chrome.
I've not tested others, but I do know now a few that don't
Mac os Sierra on chrome
Windows 10 on IE.
Not sure what else.

I see them all and they all work for me, Windows 10/firefox.

Hey guys, just saw this post
I am on a windows 7 desktop and chrome and I can see all the videos up above
I just tested it on IE11 on my desktop and I can't see the videos
-
Ok, this is weird on IE11
I can't see the video in post #1, but I can click on the no longer available words and IE11 goes to the video on you tube
Everything shows up on chrome

I still don't see the embedded videos. However, I see these same embedded videos just fine over on the amp garage so I don't think it's just an IE issue. I think it's the SMF software or how IE interacts with SMF software.
Until just a few months ago I could see embedded videos just fine on Hoffman's forums.
-
I wonder if it is some sort of add on that is blocking something?
I see all the videos up above on chrome right now on windows 7
-
Windows 10 and Chrome show a text link only. No embedded video. I'm posting this message with Chrome. I see embedded videos just fine with Chrome over on TAG.
Doug, would you look at these same videos over at TAG--- Dumble discussion using IE-11? I bet they look normal just as they do for me.
-
They're back to being visible for me on chrome on mac. Not sure why, though.
I know the difference between here and TAG is that on TAG I setup the bbcode to use html5 instead of the deprecated flash player. It maybe google mucking with things on the flash side, not sure. They do want to make it go away at some point.

I posted at the SMF forum
Lets see what they have to say
-
I think I have figured it out
A really old mod I installed on the forum seems to be the problem
There's a better youtube display mod available that I tested on my test forum and it works for me on IE and Chrome
I have to uninstalled the old youtube mod and install the new mod
I'll post back here when I have that done

I had some problems uninstalling the old youtube mod
The new mod is installed and I can see the video above in chrome and IE11
-
Ya! Working good now. It appears that the tag was the culprit. Look at reply #14 and it's code. I modified it to show the video. The video links that still have the [url] tag are still messed up but anything new shows just fine. Here's one of my favs...
-
Thanks for the update
I'll go play around with the ones that may not be displaying
I am going to do that video again with the Jazz-O-Caster
That's one of my favs also
-
Here's how to fix the post where the video is not displaying
Hit the modify button and change your post from that long url to the simple youtube link like shown in the image below
If I post the real code, the forum will change it and so I took a screen shot instead
-
I just noticed that the new mod added some youtube buttons up above
The mod adds a youtube tag like this to the youtube urls now
-
Very cool, like the additions, thanks!
