IS there a schematic around that uses EL84s (or 7189s) in a Fender AB763 type circuit
I don't need reverb and tremelo.
I'm making a new extra portable amp for wet side of my stereo rig

Hey mate, I did a 6G9 with EL84s.
Used an 18w PT/OT.

Cool
Nice build and thanks for the idea
I went looking at the 6G9 as I remembered Fender did make an amp with EL94s
I have a few 7189s kicking around which might be good in that application
I was also looking at the traynor YGM-3 buy I never was a big traynor fan though it seems to treat it's EL84s in the same rough and tumble manner as the 6G9

The mid-70s YGM-3s (with the open back cab) are awesome amps. They do punish the EL84s - mine has 450v on the plates and I have chosen to only use the 80s version of the 6P14-EV in it. I had to install a bias pot to get it in check. Changed the speaker to a Cannabis Rex and the thing sounds so sweet. Loud 20 watts. Reminds me of a small Super Reverb.
