Hello all, This is my first post so let me know if I do anything wrong or you have any tips. So I found this old amp in northern New York State last month and was lucky enough to buy it for $60. I have been working to rehab it but have had to do this without schematic or reference because after at 20 hours or researching old schematics and forums I cannot find this amp anywhere. I believe it is either a Valco or pine made amp but can't be sure. The only age marker is on the speaker which is a Jensen C12r but unfortunately the date is 00 so it could be 1950 much more likely 1960. The only other written identifier is a broken plastic emblem on front that says Art, or Ant or Apt in cursive writing. The amp has 4 inputs total 2 marked Input , 2 marked Aux. It is similar to an old Fender Deluxe brown is its tube compliment 3 12ax7 , 2 6v6 power and a 5y3 rectifier. It also has tremolo. So here are some pics let me know what you think and if you have any ideas. Thanks a bunch and cheers, Justin
Ps closest amp I ve found is Magnatone 223

Justin, the electrolytics and pots may have date codes on them, and its always worth checking the date codes on the valves just in case some are original.
Is there an output transformer somewhere?
Always worth taking a few detailed photos, and sketching out a schematic, then parts can be rotated or pots removed to check for dating.

looks like late 60's early 70's japanese. my opinion based on the looks of construction, the electrolytics and dogbone resistors. maybe a univox?

Hey guys thanks for the reply! , so there is an output transformer on It which is out back of the Chas is. I will check it for more numbers. I didn't really think of it being Japanese but I guess that makes sense as many of the resistors are Suzuki, which I haven't seen in an other pics of amps. I will keep searching that's for sure. Thanks again, Justin

It has a lot of the Teisco amps characters to it but not sure.

The way the kind of tube is labeled on the chassis confirms you surely it is a commercial product and not a craft product

+1 to "Japanese", Teisco/Elk/UniVox factory.
Very possibly sold in the US military PX, then shipped back to the US in a duffel sack (or personal cargo) when the serviceperson returned to NY.
The Teisco ilk run about 80% very-standard guitar amp circuits, but with a few odd twists. With 6V6, assume it is 80% a DeLuxe, then work out what's different. The extra tube may be trem.

Hello again and thanks for help, the Japanese lead helped get me to this amp ( https://reverb.com/item/681314-1950-s-omega-johnny-greenwood) that just sold on reverb it is the first I ve seen with almost identical chassis and components. The guy who sold it is a real marketing genius that is for sure! Although claiming it was a 50s amp and Japanese seems shady. So it seems it is a 65-66 Orpheum or Omega amp which makes sense as these were sold in NYC during that time. I will try and write a better schematic and check component dates again. Thanks again, Justin

(that one on Reverb.com) Looks Japanese to me.

that copy of yours on reverb.com is a very nice piece. i doubt it is 1950's. the plastic covered electrolytic condensers pretty much confirm that it's a mid to late 60's at the earliest. the speaker looks to be dated 1969 but then again, that could have been replaced. love the oil filled caps too! :D
