Title: what would you do with a dual output DC supply?

I picked up a dual 0-600V, 100ma power supply for cost of shipping.
I figured worse case is I gut it for a couple PT's to build low wattage projects.
But it's a very cool, retro-looking piece of gear with a nice finished wood shell and couple big-a$$ retro knobs - so I'd like to figure out a way to build a little pre-amp lab to do some experimentation. My project for the holidays is to build Sluckey's dual 50 plexi/jcm800 circuit (sent wifey the BOM for xmas) - but after that I really want to dive deep into pre-amp experimentation. I'm so blown away by my latest build of Tubenit's TOS that I've become fixated on small pentodes - spending hours trying to absorb Merlin's chapter on the topic.
I'd love some ideas from you guys about what kind of setup you've put together - thinking maybe 2-3 9pins with term strips mounted on an aluminum cake pan?

Bench supplies are a mixed blessing as a diagnostic or R&D tool.  Usually they're regulated which does not match typical tube amp power supplies.  In this case the voltage range exceeds the current draw of big bottle power tubes that could use up to 600V.  It could be used as a bench supply for small bottle tubes.


Probably, it uses a B+ voltage doubler.  So without the doubler circuit the PT would yield 300V @ 100mA.  This should be good to re-purpose in an amp with small bottle power tubes
