Some of us on the Hoffman forum also occasionally check in on the Amp Garage and some of the TAG guys are regulars on this forum. Lots of cross pollinating taking place.

R J Guitars posted an excellent guide for amp building on TAG.  I thought I'd reference the link here especially for the newer builders.  There are always other approaches but I find this one to be one of the more excellent and well thought out:
