HI! and Happy New year!
I just picked up another Hammond AO-43
I wanted to build a 7189 based amp and a 6G-9 seems like a place to start as I like fender amps And it seems like a build that would do better with 7189s due to the high PA voltages)
Mostly I've built AB763 style amps
Looking at the two I see differences(component-wise) in the pre (minor) but larger differences in the PI and NFB loop
Seems like less negative feedback
Also higher voltages in the pre and PI than say a similar power AB763 (like a deluxe or vibroluxAA964)
Not having heard or played a 6G-9 can anyone give me some input on how (and if) these differences significantly affect the amps sound?
I guess it would be fun to try and not too difficult to switch to more AB763 specs if I didn't like it
(I was also possibly considering incorporating this into a stereo amp)
