Title: Looking for good breadboard for constructing effects pedals
Post by: bnwitt on January 01, 2018, 04:03:22 pm
Do any of you pedal builders have a suggestion for a good quality reasonably priced breadboard that would be suitable for building effects pedals?
Thanks in advance,
Barry

Ed Chambley has a nice breadboard that's perfect for this. I highly recommend something similar. His boards came from Radio Shack. Maybe he will post some pics.

You can also find the same type breadboard at Amazon...

And here's some good basic info on using them...

Here's a breadboard I made back in the '70s. I did mostly digital stuff on it but analog would be easy too. Might give you some more ideas.

This is what I got, I think something of this size will work for most pedals.

Barry,
That board Sluckey posted the photo is the one I have now.  It looks a little different now, but functions the same.  Sluckey had it powered by basically a wall wart to a RCA input.  I did change this because I run the boards from dedicated power supplies.  He did not say he sold it to me, but I have it.

FYI, I do not care for any more than 3 side by side boards, I prefer multiple boards so I don't have to rebuild every circuit.  For instance, I keep a preamp pedal board and an effects board like simply overdrive or fuzz and I can easily knock up a few versions and switch them back and fourth.

All I do is cut Corian and get joist hangers, the ones with holes in them.  These can be bolted to the Corian and the breadboards simply stick.  The holes are great for jacks, pots and switches.

Sort of like this except mine are built a bit cleaner looking.
