Title: 20days less of winter
Post by: shooter on January 12, 2018, 07:19:21 pm
whoosed out for 20 of the 90 day winter season, I'm not a beach guy, but fortunately Florida does have "real" out doors :icon_biggrin:

been hiking n fishing the 'glades.  found a honey hole full of aquarium fish gone viral :think1:
Oscar, an Amazonian fish to American fish-tanks to, flush?  They are a great fighter, I set them all free to catch again, well, except one that jumped off the hook on land, then got ate by my alligator friend.  Cute 4'er that got all excited every time I'd land a fish, only to give me the evil eye when I set them free  :l2:

the real tourists kept saying, sir, do you know there's an Alligator by you? I finally got syndical, oh that's my coon 'gator, best damn hunter I've ever had

Cool -  would like to see pics of the fish.  Also hope you never get too close to one of these -  they say they're pretty hard to spot.

I WANT to see a a python!, last trip I stumbled into a panther lair, complete with fresh key-deer carcus, nice tracks, no Panther.....that I could see :w2:.

I'm not a pic guy, but besides the Oscar, I caught; snake head, sail-fin catfish, Parrot fish, Sheep's-head, and a Red eye'd fresh water bass that I still can't identify.  "normal" fish, Crappie, Blue-gill, Sunfish.

While I was down there a 14' python took on a 6' gator on the tenth hole of some country club, never heard the outcome.

Hopefully it's off to the dessert S.W. next, I've seen the western diamond-back and Tarantula, but yet to find a scorpion  :think1:

  Don't know what state your're going to - but when I lived in AZ I don't recall seeing a scorpion although they say they are plentiful in the deserts.
Up here in western CO though I've seen quite a few.. I guess it just depends on the location. I got caught in a tarantula migration once while
I was fishing at Walker lake in western NV, that was a trip - crawling up my legs..

This vid is in that exact location
