Title: Hoffman Princeton reverb rectifier help
Post by: Paulycoo on February 14, 2018, 01:15:33 pm
Hello all again.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past!
Another question if I may:
I've just got some tung sol 6v6gt power tubes whilst looking for a crackling (bad reverb transformer).
My plate voltage is 400v.
I think that's a bit much for the tung sols.
Can I use a different rectifier valve to lower the plate voltage?
I've biased them at about 65% and they sound awesome.
I'd like them to last a bit.
Many thanks Paul McNamara.

Every Princeton Reverb I've seen had more than 400v on the plates. I would not be concerned.
