I just remembered that some time ago I've read an interesting thread about the conversion of some Tube circuits to Solid State
I think this can be useful when you want to build a small amp but the "donor" circuit has not enough heater current to feed all the tube you require
there are schematics like this

the link is here

and attached you can find a pdf file with the schematics present on that thread

That is so wrong K.
Next you suggest we start using those nutubes
Someone should move this topic to the solid state area.
I kid of course

I already did a thread on those :icon_biggrin:
Franco, I just faced that dilemma! my mono block build is about an amp short. I "fixed" it by stealing from Peter to make Paul  I still have a 60W SS PA, just in case :icon_biggrin:

This thing come to my mind after reading the 6an8 thread
http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=23081.0 (http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=23081.0)
because of the low gain of the triode available for the pre section
no other reasons
This will be a solution on a tube amp, no SS amp stuff ........

I know Franco, i was just messing with you little.
Philosophical question, how much ss stuff can you put in amp and still call it tube amp?
-
To me ...... a single "piece"
V1 or SF or FXLoop, may be PI
but only one at a time
the only one I can accept without too much effort, is SF

what!, the Marshall valvestate is not a tube amp :icon_biggrin:
