Title: EL84 Quad switch
Post by: dscottguitars on March 06, 2018, 01:10:48 pm
Hi, I am considering building an EL84 PP amp with switchable two tubes to four tubes (parallel). I don't have a schematic to share, but I think the power section is somewhat standard. I plan on using a cathode bias.

What would be the best to use in the switch? the plate wire, input, or cathode?

Thanks,

Daniel

I've seen a lot of 36W EL84 amps that switch cathode resistors. Like this...

That looks good and simple too. Thanks...
