Title: Vibro Champ build with kt66
Post by: Ozzytown on March 18, 2018, 03:45:46 pm
This is my first posting. Usually everything I've ever needed has been answered in another post, except for this question.
I'm starting to gather supplies for a Vibro Champ build. I'd like to use a kt66 instead of a 6v6. I have the OT. And I'm going to use Allen amps TP25 for the PT.
What I need to know is any other changes that I need to make for the circuit.
I've built several amps but my knowledge is limited to that of building a model. However, I'm learning.
Im.guessing the grid screen resistor needs to be raised?

Has anyone successfully done this? What changes needed to be made? Most likely, I will use triode electronic's layout.
    Thanks

sorta the same; here's you check list to start

what's you B+ goal for the 66's plate
you have the OT, so math, plate volts/ot impendence, = tube current (rounded:)
grab a data sheet for your tube, that should give you max G1 grid leak R, also kinda sorta G2's R based on max current and plate volts

cathode R I gust steal from another similar build, or just guess using the I i calc'd earlier, then tweak as needed
once that's dialed in, take any preamp that floats your boat n plug'r in and tune
