Hi: I was wanting to build Sluckey's Tweed deluxe reverb ( it has no tremolo ) and is one channel
I have a Heyboer PT 280 0 280 and matching 18 watt OT.
The PT has enough current and I used - http://thesubjectmatter.com/calcptcurrent.html to calculate
My question is Ive read that the Deluxe reverb has about 400V on the plates ( I might be wrong )
and I was wondering if using the above iron with a GZ34 Tube rectifier , how that will affect the sound being not as much voltage on the plates?
From the calculator I would get around 380 volts at the first capacitor
would it still sound deluxey?
any advice would be great... thanks

I think you would have a VERY difficult time hearing any significant difference between 380v or 400v on plates of 6V6's. (I do think one can hear a significant difference in voltages on preamp tube plates so you may want to simply compensate to lower one or more of the B+ dropping resistors.)
My basis for say this is two of my amps have 300-0-300 PT and I've used 5Y3GT, 5V4, GZ34 and solid state rectifier plug in on both amps with 6V6's, 5881's and 6L6's.
with respect, Tubenit

Thanks ... I think I’ll build it and find out, just have to order the reverb tank and a few tubes
