Title: SSbuild
Post by: shooter on May 16, 2018, 09:46:12 pm
since I only need to mow every other day...
I bought this 4 channel TS, from a QX8000, 3 outta 4 channels are good  :blob10:
I re-drew the schematic as it was, except now legible, but still upside down  :laugh: (haven't proofed much)
Got a 50w SS PA, 2channel kit I built, and a pair of Bose 10.2 II.  once it's a proven concept, I'll fix the broke channel, use 1 of the RCA stereo 10Watters I inherited to drive a pair of Jenson 100W(PK?) jsm301's

The screenshot show ~~3:1 gain, in was 1.19ishvacrms
I adjusted knobs for max V out, need another tone source to see where max clean ends, I took it down to 130mVrms in with ~~422mVrms out
 :think1: adding gut shot

Thanks!  here's what I had to work with for original, the crease runs right through there  :think1:
the layout is pretty good.

Hope to gator clip the PA next, then it's scare the neighbors  :laugh:

did a quick sound-check using one of the RCA didies I have, sounds like a re-build is in order on the TS board.  The middle 40% of both T & B are ~ok, but outside that things go downhill fast.  I dug up my SS PA, it's actually a mono-block (K8060)  :think1: but it's rated 100Wrms into 4ohms!  I'll probably fire it up and just run each side 1adatime and listen, don't expect any real change, except LOUDER  :icon_biggrin:

The grass ain't knee high so;
got the AC mechanicals in place, fiberglass sucks!
settled on a hinged back, I'll mount the board, speaker out, and aux in, on the back.
settled on a 1/4" jack in with volume on the front panel, RCA AUX IN can be used with a $30 Bluetooth, or whatever.
need to swap out the big caps because of clearance.

I ran an amp 8hrs/day X 3days, maybe 5 degrees above ambient air, clean crisp sound

not bothering with in-chassis speakers
the sky looks WAY better in reality  :laugh:

Your builds are beginning to take on a certain artistic flare. I like.

Thanks , he who uses a toaster oven  :laugh:

The MRI faceplate has been kicking around my barn for many years, I just knew it needed a new purpose.
I am hoping to "catch the eye of the 2?yr olds" as they depart mom & dads basement  :icon_biggrin:

Phase II has been kickin around awhile;
center channel, 60-ish W Brick kit I built for something else.  That will drive an Altec 15", and this JBL, I have the voice of the theater cross-over that i'll be using.  the horn is a PITA.  I started thinking hand tools only, I'm up to 2 dewalt 18V's per session   :icon_biggrin:
