My gall-job, the worst part was seeing the charges. (Even though insurance covered it.) (And half of the charge must be the doctors' insurance premiums.) The nurse told my driver to take me right home and make me rest. I felt better than I had in a long time! _I_ wanted to stop for lunch, but agreed to lie on the couch while she fixed a light meal. Yeah, the stabs did itch a little, but not like a blackfly bite. They left the drain in me for a week but after 36 hours the flow had stopped. I was warned of digestive change but I'm better than ever.
Oh, one change: I always like hamburgers very rare. After the job I didn't want to look at raw/rare beef. For about a year I was ordering well-done. Also not finishing-off greasy fries. This too passed.
