Title: Layout grounding differences?
Post by: Oddvar on July 29, 2018, 01:03:53 pm
Hi.  Could anyone elaborate a bit on the differences in grounding on these two layouts?  It seems like the Mojotone connects the the 16uf/450v to the ground bus, the other doesn't?

Generally separating your preamp sections away from your power sections can reduce the chance for ground loops, but both are proven methods that work (the ceriatone uses one single star ground, and isolated input jacks  instead).  If you're curious about learning more about grounding techniques, I highly recommend you read this chapter of the valve wizard's book he's got on line for free:

His book is worth it anyway, so if you like that chapter go buy the book :D
