Title: Footswichable EQ Bypass
Post by: JKRamsey1991 on August 08, 2018, 09:20:23 am
I am in the process of planning a new build and want to incorporate a footswitchable EQ bypass to act as a solo boost of sorts. Reasoning through this in my head I believe all that would be needed would be to break the ground at the mid pot (fender ab763 tone stack), and run the ground to the footswitch jack correct? I have a dr z footswitch on hand to use for this so I will be using a 1/4 in Jack for it.

Anyone done this before? My Dr Z maz 38 has this feature and I find it very useful. Also anyone have any wiring diagrams or schematics for this? Thanks guys?

Be sure to use a shielded cable to the footswitch. You don't really need a wiring diagram for this do you?

You can look at the Dumble style "overdrive" amp schematics  with PAB  (preamp boost) which somewhat uses the same idea although with differences.  The D-style amps also have mid-boost switching that is very useful.

With respect, Tubenit

I guess I don’t really need a diagram. Probably me overthinking it really.
