Any ACDC fans/playahs out there? I've got a semi completed clip of Whole Lotta Rosie. It's a drum and bass backing track with my vocals and I added the basic Malcom riff. It's been ages since we have done a collaboration tune around here. I'll post the clip if anyone or several folks are itching to record and post their Angus duckwalk shredding ability to complete it.

I don't play any AC/DC stuffI'll take a listen, but I am not familiar with that tune
-
Ooooooo, yeah! Post it so I can add my Cajun accordion on it! :icon_biggrin:
I'll run it through a Leslie, it'll work great! :icon_biggrin:

 Yeah, yeah, sure, pick on the accordion player. :think1:

hey.my mom played the accordian.in the 60's.well very early 60's.

I am hoping someone steps up here! I am going to post this anyway. Ok gents, here we go. I recorded this so long ago I forgot what I used. It is two guitar tracks through the Major but that's all I remember. Sorry as I got a little loose at the end. I also have to apologize for the vocals. I tried for my best Bon Scott the way he did this live. I loved the way he sang live. Now, someone needs to put on their schoolboy outfit, have an uncontrollable leg twitch, and shred to your hearts content. COME ON GUYS!!!

Well shit, why didn't you say the song is "I wanna Tell You a Story bout a girl I know. When it comes to lovin' she steals the show.
42-39-66, large rear. Great tune and the AC/DC riff master was Angus, but Malcom did come up with Back in Black, which is very cool.

Wow....well those vocals are ummmmm, special? https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=special
Let me get back in the swing and I'll mike up my live rig and give it a go. My leg is twitching but only because of doing 6 million trips in and out of the new basement.
Although, at this point, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna sound just like anyone else who has been playing guitar in the last half century.
...rippin those pentatonics up
Once you realize that you're no more special than the next guy your ego slowly deflates and your 50th birthday comes along and as long as you stay out of Guitar Center on a Sat. afternoon you won't get embarrassed by a 16 year old girl. (who can also sing it better)
-
Wow! It’s time to take your meds and pick up your guitar!!! Sounds like you need a break today! Go ride your scooter and revitalize. PLUS, you hurt my feelings with the vocal comment. You know how sensitive I am.....😢 I was hoping some of our down-under members would at least give me a thumbs up for attempting the immortal Bon Scott! Here is some reference material for your pentatonic noodling...
Yer ex pal,
Jim

Whoa Jim Bob! You got some good moves. And purdy knees too!
-
Hey you, Mr. Sluckey, I know you have a few amps laying around... I expect to see your contribution here as well young man...
SG, I looked up "special" in your urban dictionary. You did mean in a good way, right?

Hey Jim,
I thought your vocals sounded great! Nice singing! And you certainly nailed "that" guitar rift. I will confess that I've heard of AC/DC but I'm not sure I've ever seen a YouTube of them until you posted this one in the thread nor could I have named any song they've ever done?
The lead guitar player has a lot of energy & he's got some pretty quick guitar rifts.
I hope someone who can play in that style jumps in and collaborates with you. I think it could be a very cool project.
THANKS for sharing! With respect, Jeff

Meh...not bad for a middle aged over the hill white boy...but don't get ahead of yourself partner I didn't say it was great either ;) (no special ball washing from this guy). It figures you'd pick a song from your hay day year '77, the same year of Star Wars, Disney's main street electrical parade, and unbeknownst to you the year that kite surfing was born. Peace brah... and why don't YOU insert a little fire breathing major R2R 'Burner riffage mojo into that recording? :guitar1
-
How would you know about the Main Street Electrical Parade you Yensid you!
Tubenit, thank you sir! I am ignoring the peanut gallery. Unfortunately we lost Bon in 1980 and the Brian Johnson era was ushered in. ACDC are (to me) like Deep Purple MkII and MkIII. I loved Bon Scott and Ian Gillan, but I still like Brian Johnson and David Coverdale! Take a look at the video below with Brian singing 32 years later - one of the craziest crowds I think I've ever seen! Of technical note. All those cabinets onstage? They are ALL hooked up and working. Just do a Rig Rundown search on Youtube and you will see a dozen old 100watt Marshalls behind the stacks pumping those cabinets. Angus would not have it any other way. Eddie Van Halen said the most crushing moment of his career that made him physically sick was following ACDC at a big festival. He said all you heard backstage was boom boom boom and you look out and see a sea of people jumping around going crazy. Then we come on and play Jump.... It was humiliating! :l2:

SG and Jojo, Bon Scotts vocals were described by an early critic as "two weasels mating". I think, I've done a pretty good job recreating those weasels. So phthttttttt to you.

Yeah...I would say it sounded like you were the very vocal weasel on the bottom.

BON SCOTTS LIVES!!!!!!!
JIM BOB That was AWESOME!!!!

Was that ANGUS in the background trash'n the stage???
NO.... that was you.......AWESOME!!!!
I think this is one of Bon's best, could be another remake for.....

Well well well, take notice you two mean girls (Jojo and SG). We have an official Aussie (Timbooooo!), talking about an Aussie band (and who better to comment on his homegrown sonic marvel known as ACDC), commenting on that Aussie band's Aussie singer (someone the official Aussie is obviously very fond of), and comparing my effort VERY favorably to his national hero (admittedly a weak offering compared to the immortal Mr. Scott). I would have to say Timboooo's single innocent comment packs more punch, carries more cred, and trumps infinitely anything you two knuckleheads can come up with sitting in your underwear in your basement (or closet for Jojo) hunting and pecking and drooling on your keyboards. So go take a shower, throw your t-shirt stained with taco and pizza sauce into the wash, pick up your guitars, and record some lead that is loud enough to cover my (Official Timboooooo authorized) vocals! Prove you can snatch the pebble from my hand. Not likely, but the only metaphor I could come up with that you two Eddie Haskell Grasshoppers might understand.
Jim "AUSSIE" Bob - I LIKE that!
-
BUMP!
Come on you bloomin' cockroaches! Pick up your guitars and record something! I'm about to publicly question a few member's man cards (SG, Jojo, and maybe a few others...) if somebody doesn't post something soon.
Jimbob

In your own words that you can understand... “bah”. 😂🤣

I agree with jojo 100%
-
OMG! OMG! OMG!!!! I can't believe that YOU would side with jojo on anything! :icon_biggrin:
Come on turtle, you don't get off the hook THAT easy... I wanna hear some riffage from that customized KT88 stereo multiplex quad surround multi-cab vario unbalanced sonical marvel you have bragged so tirelessly about. Just because jojo is a certified tabby, doesn't mean you get to go down that same estrogen lined street. I'm sure he just misplaced his music stand or is still looking for tabs or maybe even lost his reading glasses or his fav stool. YOU have no excuse. I thought REAL men resided in Philly. Don't make me call my cousins to come over and pay you a visit... :violent1:

SG - the Blues are 1 game to achieving what they've (and Jimbob) has never achieved before - the pinnacle of success. And see how cocky he's become already?!

And imagine how cocky he is now.
It took a Philadelphian to get his team the cup so he better be thankful for that.
He's such an emotional terrorist that I'm not sure if I'll ever actually record anything for him.
Thanks again for all those soundclips that you have recoded for me and sent to me over the years.
He just doesn't deserve them and he'll never reach the pinnacle of success if he continues on with this bully mentality and piss poor attitude.
I am just as disappointed with him as everyone else on this forum is.
It is disgraceful and I'm going to need him to start putting trigger warnings on all of his posts.

You know.... Instead of explaining the numerous psychological faults that you are obviously burdened with, I will use some quotes from the movie School of Rock. In this titan of historical movie magic, Dewey Finn explains the role that people play in life. "Those that can't do, teach. Those that can't teach, teach gym class." See where I am going with this? Obviously you are afraid to post any of your Philly inspired shreading - and hey, that's fine! Those who can't shread, build. But we have never heard your customized KT88 stereo multiplex quad surround multi-cab vario unbalanced sonical marvel - and hey, that's fine too! Those who can't build? Well, watch, listen, and learn. Not the er... "type" I would be interested in, but it IS an important job for YOU! And you would be perfect! (PS, I'm not talking about the manager position.....)
Jim AUSSIE Bob, SG's life coach

Boooooom.....
-
You know....
I was talking to jojo
There's one very important guy missing from that pic.
-
He didn't want to be in the pictures! The guys couldn't drag him out. You know he is still just the interim coach? :l2: I think that is a first in cup history. What a great guy! The players worship him and have since he arrived - when they had the worst record in the league back in February. Amazing what he has done.
Jim

Re your original request, to quote Chester Burnett, I'm built for comfort, ain't built for speed. But you make me realize that I need to get into recording.
-
And what a better way to get started than with this tune! You can play the smooth jazz version of the lead!
