Would it be, or is it possible to take this schematic and convert it into a point-to-point diagram / layout, so that it could build it as a kit? I do not have the technological know-how of converting schematics to point-to-point and this is something I would really like to build. It would also be really cool if we could put in a tube rectifier. If you know where there is a diagram available / layout I would greatly appreciate it.

you'll be money ahead finding a broke one and having it fixed. Ic's don't lend well for turrets, especially when the leg count gets to 28

That is kind of disappointing however, I would still like to give it a try. does anyone know if there are any amps that offer what this amp would offer in kit form or have a point to point layout/diagram, I have done some looking and have not found anything.
This is kind of what I'm looking to build something that has gain, volume, trouble, middle, bass, Reverb and presence. that can be switched from high power to a low power setting like 2/15 w. It could even have separate input jacks instead of having a switch if it would be easier to design that way. Have a tube rectifier with 12ax7 preamp circuits and el84 / 34 Power section. and since We're Dreaming I would love to have a footswitch that would turn the Reverb on and off and another switch that would allow the gain to go from a very low setting like a clean to whatever the knob is set at like 7. So that it would act like a clean / drive switch. Build my own cabinet that would either have a 12 inch Jensen or celestion speaker.

I figured a trouble control knob would help, only if there was one to help my bad playing. ( Of course I meant treble)

I have implemented a talent boost circuit in each amp I build for myself. So far, I can't get it to work. :laugh:

I do enjoy a good laugh now and then, however back to the question does anyone know where such a layout could be found or layouts that can be put together to make such a machine minus the terrible knob

shop your schematic around to circuit board builders on the web, might wanna be playing some Jgeils before you read the replies :icon_biggrin:

Take a look at the turret boards Doug sells here to see if any come close to what you want. You could then tweak to taste. Looks like you just want a high gain low watt amp with some trimmings. Also check out the AX84 site for some ideas. Regardless, unless you are independently wealthy, you are going to have to put some time in to learn some things to be able to mix and match and implement the ideas you have. I don’t think you will find exactly what you are looking for - especially in some sort of kit form.

Did some quick research and apparently this “Laney” amp is a rebadged Monoprice amp. $179 with free shipping from our Chinese friends. We don’t build these things to save money but I guarantee anything you put together will sound better than this.

With quick look the cub preamp is pretty close to JCM800 2204 circuit, so maybe some marshall layouts would be easier to find.

Low power setting has been done with simple attenuator circuit between phase inverter and power tubes so basically a fixed ppimv.
(i wonder how they came up with 2W on low setting)
Presence control in this amp is similar to top cut control on vox amps.

I think I found something that I want to build that meets my requirements however, it does not have a Reverb circuit. could I add this Reverb circuit out of the Princeton? if I can where would I tap into to send it to the circuit and recover it from the circuit. Also is there any little tweaks that someone would suggest that I make to the circuit. And I know this might sound a little strange but I wanted to be less powerful is it possible to just remove one of the output tubes from the circuit.
