Title: Post line spacing
Post by: Willabe on August 31, 2018, 04:00:11 pm
Is anybody else having a problem with spacing sentences?

When I post the sentences re space themselves, go back in and fix it and they do it again but in a different place with different sentences!  :BangHead:    :cussing:
No matter how many times I go back in they just keep re spacing themselves!  :BangHead:    :cussing:

Test;

I'll write several lines, single spaced;
1. Cubs won again last night.
2. I'm getting hungry.
3. I need it to not rain for 4 days straight so I can stain my front porch and back deck.
4. Cubs are 8 - 2 in their last 10 games.
5. By the way we're moving to Rochester N.Y.
6. Pam's parents live there.
7. Working on getting the house ready to list for sale.
8. Looking forward to working on my friends '67 Deluxe Reverb amp.
Brad

I just edited your post using toggle view
All text is single spaced

There is an issue between some *browsers* and some forum message boxes. Apparently started in the last year.

If I run into a discussion about this I'll try to remember to report.

Use the toggle view button up above to control things better
Last button in the row that has brackets with an arrow in the middle

It lets you control text better
It will also let you see the code for pasted text and links

What browser are you using?

edit, up above is what firefox did in regular posting mode and hitting enter after every line
Firefox put all my text on one line for some reason?

This is what Chrome did

This is a test of chrome on my windows 7 desktop
single line

Testing firefox again in toggle view mode

Toggle view worked on a new post.

And, I was able to go back and fix a post that the spacing was goofed up on!

Thanks Doug.  :icon_biggrin:

Not sure Firefox acts so differently?

Nothing has changed on the forum here, so it must be something in Firefox
May do a google search and see if there are any settings that can be changed in Firefox?

I always use chrome, only use Firefox very rarely, IE once in a while also

Can you see this section of another forum? (DIYaudio is safe for work though bad for your sanity.)

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/forum-problems/323922-double-triple-space-paragraphs-preview-post.html

Post #17 there has a specific magic spell but not explained.

about:config
editor.use_div_for_default_newlines

I don't have that line in my FF config file?
I only have these two lines

editor.use_css
editor.use_custom_colors
