You're gonna have to brush up on your music history because of course rap was brought to the states by the greatest band of all time.

Oh come now, gentlemen.  Had either of you done your homework you would know that Rap traces its roots back to Square Dancing.  What is not as widely known is that Square Dance was actually mocking Gregorian Chants as a form of revolt.
