Title: carvin vl100 problem.
Post by: gawlersteve on September 11, 2018, 07:13:35 pm
My clean channel has gone thin and when plugged into return the sound is clipping slightly. done all the usual checks valves voltages. tried changing c69 with varying results but no improvement. also anomalies in parts list schematic and amp. eg r31  parts says jumper schematic says 100k actual in amp and original is 220k

Welcome.

Not all of us have all the Carvins memorized, and their model-numbers are sometimes confusing? Can you point to the schematic you are looking at??

I found this, not a "vl100", but interesting that R31 and C69 relate to effect return.

I've been using 18 dec 99 version by g dreyer   Ive assumed the problem is not pre amp section as clipping in power amp stage . thought it might be in v3a or v5
