Title: Fender AB763, no tremolo question
Post by: Diverted on September 20, 2018, 12:52:26 pm
Hi all,

I'm going to build a Fender AB763 deluxe reverb. Only one channel, and would like to remove the tremolo circuit.
I have never dealt with the tremolo circuit on this one, which uses the optocoupler bug. I'm wondering the best way to remove it.

I know I should re-route the two 220K resistor junction inthe output section to the bias pot.
But the other lead coming off the high side of the intensity pot, that hooks up iwth the junction of the .01uf and 220K, which eventually goes to the second plate of the 7025 ... I don't know If I should just remove this connection, or if I need to modify the circuit in other ways. Any suggestions?

Thnaks!

If you'd like simplicity in a proven winner design, look no further:

He took all the thinkin out of it for us.

I built one of these and died a little bit when I sold it.

You seem to be confusing the AB763 DR with another amp, maybe the Princeton Reverb or Hoffman's modified AB763 circuit. The tremolo circuit in a real Deluxe Reverb AB763 does not tie in with the bias circuit.

It's on my website...

My AB763 Lite is the NORMAL channel rather than the VIBRATOR channel.
