Title: Hello All
Post by: Trenchard_UK on October 17, 2018, 04:55:55 pm
Just joined as I have my 60th Birthday coming up in January and have an itch for building a hand-wired amp (around 20 watt), but have never done anything close to it apart from soldering a couple of pickups into a guitar I built some 35 years ago, and a couple of 12 inch speakers into an empty cab last year

I am in the UK, so whatever I build, it must be UK voltage.  Hoping to get some form of education and a starting point from this forum.  Ideally I would like to buy a ready prepared kit of parts and a step by step fail-safe instruction manual for old fools !

The only variable that changes for UK work is the transformers have to have 240V 50Hz inputs.  If you're buying them over there, most do.  :D  Many of the transformers Doug sells have 120 or 240 volt primary windings, but not sure if he ships overseas?

Welcome!
