Title: Unswitched vs Switched Jacks for Speaker Output. Marshall 2205
Post by: BlackCrowe604 on January 12, 2019, 02:52:37 am
Hi all, happy new year it has been awhile!

I am looking for some help with my 2205 Marshall. I am doing some benchwork to it and have what’s probably a simple question about the speaker output jacks.
(I have not yet encountered unswitched Cliff Jacks, or maybe I wasn’t this observant in the past).

The amp has 2x chassis mount 2-lug unswitched jacks for the speaker outputs.

I am wondering if I can get away with replacing with 4-lug switching jacks and omit the wiring from one side?

I have attached some photos.

Thanks in advance!!

Yep, just wire the 4 lug the same way as the two.
Just make sure you wire the hot side.
