Title: Is it still necessary to twist DC heater/filament wires?
Post by: markmalin on January 13, 2019, 05:45:40 pm
Hey all,

I'm using DC heater to the heaters on a pre-amp.  I've rectified the 6.3V tap on my transformer and filtered it with a 4700 uf cap.  I'm re-routing the heater wires, but my question is, do I really need to TWIST DC heater wires, or is that only for AC heater supplies?

Thanks

Humbly
Mark

I don't think it's necessary but it wont hurt. And it looks good.

Thanks, sluckey.
I'm doing this in a tube pre-amp pedal, so not twisting will make my life orders of magnitude simpler :)
