Title: Well hello there
Post by: Twinstarrocket on March 14, 2019, 11:48:47 am
Greetings fellow forum travelers! I've been using the resources here for years, it's probably about time I contribute a little something. I'm 50, have three almost-grown kids, several dogs, and interests in more things than I really have time for.

I've been working on and building tube amps for six or seven years for guitar use. I'm also interested in the audio end of things. I am a poor guitar player and a serviceable bass player. Really, I enjoy the mechanics of all of it. Instruments and amps are strictly for fun and my use; by day I'm a media editor.

I once had aspirations of building boutique amps for profit, but it's a crowded and I'd say saturated market with a lot of great stuff already in it. Mostly what I enjoy is taking salvaged parts and turning them into working amps. I also have a lot of fun exploring tubes beyond the common 12AX7/6V6/6L6/EL84/EL34 etc. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic tubes, and I use them. There's other fun stuff out there, and sometimes it's really cheap or free!

Looking forward to sharing and continued learning.
