Yeahhhhhh ! I gotta build a Ranger amplifier.
Push pull, 6CA7, 4 GAIN STAGES + CF + LTP
370V on the plates, cathode biased ( 100 % ). No tone stack.MASTER VOLUME.
It ll be named : The Ranger extra gain 1
It will be my second high gain amp. The first one has it 's power tubes driven direct by the LTP PI and has an awesome tone.
I have put emphasis on unbalanced properties at the power tubes with a balance pot, 2 diff values coupling caps. I can even use a kt66 in conjunction with an EL34 for more unbalance.
 


Question: do you think I pay extra $$ for matched pairs ?????

...but for me the pleasure is doing it. When it s built the interest goes away :dontknow:
