Hi All. I became obsessed with vintage electronics about four months ago. Don't ask me why. Middle age meltdown, perhaps. The garage has suddenly filled will what I'm sure my gfriend considers old junk taking up space. I first built a 5E3 mojotone kit - great fun, and a tone to die for. Then I came across some old organs and other vintage tube stuff going free or cheap. OMG - you'd think I'd killed a mammoth and hauled it home for the tribe, the way I felt upon discovering this stuff. My eyes have been going square from watching youtube vids on how-to, and from following forums like this one - too much fun! Maybe it's the inherent mystery of electronics - the magic of art and science combined. And it's also the tone, of course. As a guitarist of forty years - all styles, including flamenco - tone is the holy grail. My ignorance seems to know no bounds when it comes to electronics, but I'm a fast learner.
I have a bunch of questions about the GA 5 schedule 40, so I'll try and post them in the appropriate place.
Thanks, it's good to be here. Shaun.
