Title: Hello from Elon, NC
Post by: Scott Anderson on March 28, 2019, 02:48:43 pm
Hello,

I live in Elon NC. I have a bachelor degree in Electronics and in Computer Science. I work as an IT developer for a company on a gov contract.

I play bass guitar and have built several tube bass amps. My latest bass amp uses 2 KT-88s, KT90s or KT120s. It's kind of nice and I'm still playing around with it.

One of my other projects is on my Bogen CHB-100. This amp was used as our PA back in the early 70s when I was in high school. I have replaced the tubes and all the caps. I also replaced the 6EU7 pre amp tube with a 12AX7. It would make a good guitar amp. Already played my bass through it. I have to work on the power supply. The bias is about 5 volts higher than called for and the other voltages are about 40 vdc higher than they should be.

And then there is an old 40s Philco Model 46-420 Radio that needs new caps and clean up. This radio has tubes about as old as me. This radio is one that we kids would listen to with our dad in the mornings before going to school.

Scott

There's a guy gathering info about a KT88 project on the main forum right now. Maybe you could give him some tips. Maybe even share your schematic with him. Here's the direct link to his thread...
