Title: Advantages/Disadvantages of Diodes or Rectifier...

I'm building this amp. Someone said I could get better cleans with a rectifier tube rather than the diodes - -
1. Thoughts?
2. If I were to change this so I could use a rectifier instead - how, exactly, would I do it and what rectifier tube would I use?

Also - this amp calls for an LED and I just have a regular fender lamp assembly. I am assuming this is not an issue - shouldn't be right? Just wire it in as normal?

no expert, but I tend to expect a tighter B+, no sag, no real tonal changes from SS rect.  some might call it stiff vs warm, I'm not a musician, I just want my B+ to stay reasonably constant, so I've only used 1 tube rec., then I moved to diodes and never looked back.

if you mean to the AC ;ine volts, yes, if you mean in place of LED, no.
