Title: Carbon Fiber Fat Ebike Build
Post by: EL34 on May 07, 2019, 05:35:51 pm
The Carbon Fiber Fat bike is done and it is amazing!

It rides so much better than the cheap ass Mongoose test bike I built.

Full carbon Fiber Fat frame, carbon fiber fork and carbon fiber wheel set.

Here's the YouTube build video I did today.

Doug,

That is cool! Does it ride so much better because it's lighter? Different fork angle?

I've always wondered, considering your neck of the woods, have you ever run up on any bear at night?

Ride is better maybe first because of 120 thread per inch super supple fold able tires
The red bike had wire bead tires with really thick casings

Never seen a bear at night.... yet

Cool!  Thanks for sharing!  Even being familiar with the trail, that's pretty gutsy doing a night ride like that thru woods and over the dam. Looks like great fun.

with respect,  Jeff

So, I am in the Canadian Rockies towards the top of a big mountain at the end of a road that was reasonably steep  AND a couple shows up (maybe in their mid-late 60's) on E bikes.  I stopped and talked to them about it and they said they take their bikes all over the place up there and the mountains are NO problem for them.  They were VERY positive about their bikes. They didn't look to be super fit and avid cyclists, but they did look like they were having a bunch of fun!

Then I'm in Banff, Alberta CA ………. & I start noticing quite a few FAT tire E-bikes in town.  Apparently, its a thing up there.
I think IF I lived in a place like that, I'd invest in one.
