Many thanks for any reply/info
At a flea market I've seen this old petroleum Kodak lamp, I've think it is an old dark room lamp and as my son is a
photography enthusiast (he is also building a dark room with a pair of friends) I took it as a gift for him
as Kodak is an american brand I hope someone knows something about it

> Petroleum Kodak Lamp
Mostly we would say "kerosene", petroleum a little lighter than common Diesel fuel. Or "Lamp Oil", a little lighter and selected for low odor (not so much stink) and less gum on the wick.
It is just possible that early ones were run on Whale Oil. (However petroleum/coal derived lamp-oils were common before Kodak was founded.)

You are right, we call it Petrolio Lampante and it is what you call light oil (if I'm not wrong)
Petrolio was used instead of Petrolio Lampante commonly speaking
When I was young both my grandparents used on bedrooms lamp like this (without the reflector)

On kitchen/living room one had an acetylene lamp

the other a "modern" gas lamp

Oh, both my grandparents were farmers
my great-grandparents one lived fishing and had a very small piece of land, little more than a vegetable garden
the other lived fishing and hunting, to get the cartridges he accompanied the wealthy for hunting in the Venetian lagoon with the rowing boat
