Just joined the forum today though I've browsed pages here a number of times in the past.

I play guitar (I own a Les Paul and a mid-range Martin Acoustic) and sing. Have gigged some in the past couple years. For years I didn't play but during that time got really into hi-fi and in so doing have mediocre to decent general knowledge in tubes, tube amps, speakers, etc. I've repaired my share of hi-fi tube gear with the occasional cuss words that go along with that endeavor.  :BangHead: I've also accumulated useful parts up the wazoo, though finding them in the mess is sometimes a challenge. I've also built a couple things from scratch. I hit tons of garage sales, etc. during that time and now have roughly 15+ vintage tube PA amps lying around that I said, "I'll get to them eventually."

Well, I guess eventually is here. I brought a couple of these units up on a variac, added 1/4" jack and gave them a spin. Both work and sound damn good stock with my LP and a JBL D130, but I have no doubt, with some work, I can improve upon that. Thus, here I am.

My first guitar amp project (soon to be posted on in the appropriate forum) is a cool Newcomb Pathfinder E-20 (a pair of 6BQ5's for output) that I've begun to dig into some and already really like how it sounds.

I know just enough to be dangerous I guess. I understand the basics of how tubes work and the stuff associated with that...show me a 12ax7 in circuit and I understand what the surrounding components are doing, etc. But, with no formal education and some knowledge gaps, show me a larger schematic and I can sometimes get lost.

Well, enough of all that, just thought I'd introduce myself before I dive in.
